I have no idea of what made my flat mates throw sulphuric acid down the toilet – funny word that the English had to borrow from the French because they didn’t find a word to name such thing.

No one should use sulphuric acid in pipes in order to unblock them. Nothing you flush down the toilet stays where you have thrown it; it follows its course towards the river and it corrodes, little by little, until killing, painfully, all form of life. Why is it that the package warns you not to allow any contact of the product with your skin, then?

There are other methods to unblock pipes, although of course the best thing to do is to not throw things that could clog it in the first place. Let’s remember that whatever we throw away, it does not disappear just because we don’t see them anymore; they end up in some place where their presence continues to affect their surroundings, for good or bad.

In general,it is a good to throw the coffee that has already been used to water-drainages to help avoid clogging.
