My crystal bottle, which I always carry inside by backpack full of water, got broken yesterday. Nothing happens to clothes when they get wet, but horrible things happen to photo cameras and mobile phones. They stop working. Therefore, my mobile phone does not work any more.
Two years ago, a friend squeezed his bag so badly, a tropical juice he had in a cartoon exploded and her photo camera, analogical and manual as it was, inherited from his father, was no longer usable.
These things should be indicated somewhere in the manual: what to do when you wet your electric equipment. I now know that, if water falls on your laptop, you can save it by passing the hoover over the keyboard., and absorb as much water as possible. Surely the hoover will swallow some key, but it is not a bad as loosing the whole computer, and, besides, keys can be put back on again (if you find them in the bag among the rest of dirt, of course).
What I did with the camera was to open it and take out as many pieces as I could, I allowed it to dry and then I tried it… At the beginning the pictures I took had some very strange red lines but now pictures come out OK.
